Food Drives Organized at the Y

December 22, 2020

Extended thru Jan 8

Food drives have been organized for local families, dogs, and cats facing food insecurity. The Y is asking for donations of non-perishable and healthy food items and donations of dog and cat food. The shelters are in special need of canned foods.

Donations can be dropped off in the bins placed in the front entrances of the Lansdale Area Family YMCA, 608 E. Main Street, (Child Care entrance on Main Street); or the Indian Valley Family YMCA, 890 Maple Avenue, Harleysville. Donations will be accepted through Friday, January 8, 2021.

Dog food donations will benefit the Montgomery County SPCA in Perkiomenville. Established in 1909 and chartered in 1916, the Montgomery County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for unwanted, lost and abused domestic animals.

Cat food will be donated to Stray Cat Blues cat rescue. For over 20 years Stray Cat Inc., 501(c)3 non-profit, has been working to help stray, abandoned and feral cats in Montgomery and Bucks Counties, and the surrounding areas.

Foods will be distributed to local families and shelters the week of January 11, 2021.
