The North Penn YMCA is here to serve and strengthen community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose and each other. We know that, like us, you and your family are dealing with a lot at this unprecedented time. It’s more important than ever for us to stay connected with our members and support our community.
While we are all working to figure out the next steps for our Y, we are asking members to kindly consider continuing their memberships while we research the effects this closure will have on our organization, our members and staff, and their families as well as the services we provide for you and our community.
ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT ARE MY FITNESS OPTIONS?
We encourage you to continue to regularly exercise during this time.
YMCA’s across the country have compiled online, group classes available to you for free that you can do from home.
CAN I STILL USE MY MOBILE APP?
We encourage all members who already use the mobile app to continue to record your goals and workouts at home. Watch for an at home workout challenge during this closure.
The mobile app is free and provides schedules, enables you to track and record workouts, set goals, earn points for prizes, participate in fun challenges and access useful Y information. Our Y app also allows you to connect to social media and to your fitness tracking devices.
If you have not already downloaded the app, please click here to learn more.
WHAT HAPPENS FOR THOSE REGISTERED FOR PROGRAMS IN SPRING I SESSION?
We thank you for your participation in our Aquatics, Sports or Group fitness programs. Our Spring I session was currently scheduled for Monday, February 24 – Sunday, April 19. Our 8-week program session was interrupted in week 3 with this closure. We plan on resuming all programs when we reopen, giving you six more weeks of the session. This means many of you will gain an extra week. In the meantime, we will be in touch with you with additional ideas that you can do at home to keep you and your families ready for the session when it resumes.
Since the session is being extended to the full 8-weeks of programming, credits and/or refunds will not be provided.
WHAT ABOUT ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS?
All planned activities, events, and meetings will be cancelled or postponed during our closure.
ARE YOU STILL TAKING SUMMER CAMP REGISRATIONS?
If families wish to register for the camp season, please download the registration forms from our website at www.NorthPennYMCA.org. Camp registrations can be emailed along with camper’s health assessments to the email noted on the camp brochure or mail them along with payment to our Corporate office at 2506 N. Broad St. Suite 208 Colmar, PA 18915.
WHAT IS HAPPENING FOR CHILD CARE FAMILIES?
All of our daycare, child care, and before and after school care programs are currently closed due to the mandate for Montgomery County by Governor Tom Wolf on Thursday, March 12. All current child care families will receive an email with additional information about payment, extended sessions and credits.

Thus, during this closure, we will be proactively conducting intensive cleaning and disinfecting of all areas of our facilities. We will continue to be proactive in taking precautions to help prevent the spread of colds, flus and the coronavirus at the Y.
We are staying close to the evolving news and guidance from the public health experts and will update you as we receive new information. We want to assure you that we will be here for you when the mandated closures are lifted. We thank you for you membership and your trust in us.
