Loving the Y From a Distance!
The virtual classes have had a huge impact on my personal health and well-being. I have two kids, ages 6 and 11 years old, and I could not make it to weekday morning classes at the Y when it was open.
I never knew what I was missing until the quarantine hit in March. We used to go to the Y in the evenings as a family. Now that I work from home, I was able to start taking some virtual classes. I am thrilled at how awesome both the classes and the instructors are. I am somewhat of a shy introverted person but have felt connected to the instructors on a personal level.
The virtual classes gave me the umph I needed to continue my weight loss journey. I’ve lost 75 pounds over the past two years and I cannot express my gratitude enough toward the Y and the other instructors who are providing these live classes for us at home.
There is a demand for live virtual classes and I hope our Y can continue to offer them even after reopening. It helps me feel like I am part of a community.
I am grateful to all of the instructors and want them to know the extremely positive impact they are having on me and others during this difficult time.
