The North Penn YMCA is hiring Preschool Teachers for our Lansdale Area Family YMCA Branch. (DHS Group Supervisor designation)

Salary: $16-$19 per hour
Responsibilities:
• Greets each child and parent daily; communicates often and professionally with families, children and staff
• Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities always maintaining child/staff ratios
• Develop and maintains daily lesson plans
• Assure that proper records are maintained on staff, equipment, facilities, and the like as required for Health Department/Governmental agency regulations and guidelines
• Acts as liaison with other agencies within service area to partner with appropriate services and programs and offer technical assistance
• Conducts and documents all state required emergency drills
• Provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children and staff
• Assesses each child’s developmental needs both formally and informally using designated assessment/ screening tools. Makes referrals as needed. Establishes/ monitors individual goals for children. Documents evidence to be used for curriculum planning and assessment including ongoing, systematic observations on each child.
• Collects, records and maintains all necessary information/documentation for student records, funding and other projects; enters data into appropriate systems in a consistent and timely fashion
• Assists in ensuring compliance with all YMCA, PA DPW licensing, and STARS requirements.
• Ability to process, understand and respond appropriately to emergency situations
• Maintain quality service by following organization standards
• Supervise teaching assistants and volunteers
• Hold parent conferences, as required
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed (i.e. participation in branch-wide activities and events as a team leader)
• Must maintain harmonious relations with all outreach facilities/sites
• Perform any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the North Penn YMCA
Qualifications:
• Requires Associate or Bachelor Degree from accredited institution in child development, elementary education, or related field
• Requires 2 years previous experience in an early care and education setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Requires Pediatric First Aid, CPR, AED certification
• Effective Communication; written, oral and through presentations
• Must have strong collaborative work ethic
• Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
