Preschool Teacher Assistant – Lansdale Branch

The North Penn YMCA is hiring Preschool Teacher Assistants for our Lansdale Area
Family YMCA Branch. (DHS Asst. Group Supervisor designation)

Salary: $13-$15 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Greets each child and parent daily; communicates often and professionally with families, children and staff
  • Assists in preparing classroom for children daily by arranging and maintaining a safe and age appropriate learning environment; keeps classroom space clean and organized; maintains classroom supplies.
  • Assists with formal orientations (including transition meetings) for children new to the classroom
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with all YMCA, PA DPW licensing, and STARS requirements.
  • Ability to process, understand and respond appropriately to emergency situations
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards
  • Must maintain harmonious relations with all outreach facilities/sites
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed (i.e. participation in branch-wide activities and events as a team leader)
  • Perform any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the North Penn YMCA

Qualifications:

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED; or be a minimum of 15 years old with 2 years’ experience working with children per DHS regulations
  • Effective Communication; written, oral and through presentations
  • Requires current CPR and Basic Frist Aid certifications (assistant)
  • Must have strong collaborative work ethic
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
