Membership Privileges for Active Duty Military Personnel
The North Penn YMCA is proud to support our active duty members of the United States Armed Forces. All active duty military personnel are provided with a free membership. Active duty personnel on leave or in transit will be provided with a membership covering that period of time.
The North Penn YMCA along with the Armed Services YMCA and Department of Defense Outreach Initiative offers free Y memberships to eligible military families and personnel who may not have access to a nearby military facility. Eligible families and personnel include:
- Family members of the deployed National Guard and Reservists;
- Active duty families who live in one of the selected joint bases created by the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process;
- Active duty independent duty personnel and their families as approved by their military service headquarters;
- Relocated spouses and family members of deployed active duty personnel.
Note: Eligibility for the Outreach Initiative is for Title 10 personnel only.
Any active duty military personnel who is not covered under the military outreach initiative will be given a free adult membership. They may include their family by paying the difference between a family and adult membership. Military ID and Active Duty/Deployment Orders or Military Service Headquarters approval letter are required for verification.
